Luna Artist Interview Questions

1. Where are you from and where do you currently reside?

a. Currently I am living in St. Petersburg, FL. with my girlfriend Hadley and our kitten, Piper! But - originally, I am from the smaller town of Bradenton, FL.

2. What musical influences did you have while you were growing up?

a. If I'm being entirely honest, my mom was the biggest influence. She forced me into piano lessons at 5 years old and without that, I don't think I would be here! Best thing that ever happened to me.

3. Was there a moment in time when you decided "this is what I want to do for the rest of my life"? What inspired you to start playing music?

a. I think I was 19 years old, started seeing some traction online from some cover videos I was posting on an app called 'vine'. Realized I had some feelings I wanted to get out in writing and started making my own songs from there!

4. Describe your life in six words.

a. I really really love Dad jokes...

5. What makes your social media following tick? Pick your favorite social media platform.

a. If I'm being honest, I love Instagram because with each photo you can share little stories. I think that's my favorite but posting on YouTube is a close second!

6. What role does music play in your life and what helps spark your creativity?

a. Caffeine. I don't know what it is, but after a cup of coffee I feel more inspired than ever and usually write my best material... I'm not an addict... Well - maybe...

7. Which Luna models do you play now and why did you choose these models?

a. OH MAN OKAY HERE WE GO - I bought the high tide ukulele before my last tour because not only did it sound beautiful, it LOOKS STUNNING. So - I sent a message to Luna and just said thanks for making a cool product and now I'm only playing LUNA INSTRUMENTS! I also play the High Tide Koa guitar, and a new for 2020 travel size guitar that we can't quite chat about yet... :)

8. Tell us a little about why you like Luna?

a. To me, Luna feels authentic. Hell, it IS authentic. As a larger brand, that's very hard to achieve but I absolutely love the feeling of realness across the board. They care about what they're putting out to the world as well as care about the artists they bring on board.

9. If you could play alongside an artist living or deceased, who would it be and why?

a. Tyler Joseph of twenty-one pilots, hands down.

10. Which genre of music fits your playing style the most?

a. Not the biggest fan of genres, but I love telling people that if Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz and Ed Sheeran had a baby, I like to think I would be that baby.

11. If you could give a gift to the world, what would it be?

a. Each time you share music, you're sharing a piece of your soul. But my goal is to provide an escape for others. I want someone to come to a show, listen to a song, see the logo, etc. - and be reminded that they're not alone.

12. What's on the horizon for you?

a. Working on a new album, it's almost complete... As well as hoping to get back out on the road and tour soon. You can catch me at mattwaldenmusic.com!!!
