Bear Creek Studio

Ask anyone in Seattle to name the best recording studio around and, without a doubt,
Bear Creek will be at the top of the list. Hidden away on a idyllic10 acre former
horse farm outside the city in picturesque Woodinville, married owners Joe and Manny
Hadlock have been making beautiful music (and noise) here for more than 30 years. Son Ryan Hadlock,
growing up around music all his life, has followed in Joe's footsteps and, in the past decade, has earned his own
reputation as one of the best producers in the area (and internationally) as well.

The list of musicians who have created art in these hallowed rooms is legendary, running the musical gamut from early grunge to mainstream pop to alternative folk. Gold and platinum albums (and CDs) line the office walls. Lionel Richie, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Love Battery, Eric Clapton, Fleet Foxes, Blonde Redhead, The Strokes, Modest Mouse, The Gossip, Josh Ritter, the Tragically Hip and even the cast of Sesame Street have all recorded here in this woodsy, country setting.
Joe also builds and designs other recording studios, most recently for the Old Firehouse Teen Center in Redmond, Washington and The Vera Project All Ages venue in Seattle Center.
Now, as part of their recording arsenal, Bear Creek is offering three Luna Guitars to studio clients: a Gazelle, a Henna Sol and a Gypsy Pre bass. On a recent visit to Bear Creek, the Gazelle was already in use on a national commercial.
Here are some photos of Joe Hadlock, Ryan Hadlock and session guitarist Gary Lanz, who kindly took a few moments out from a session to show off their Luna collection.
And even more coincidentally, Ryan's dog, pictured here as well, is named Luna!
