Guitarist Jerome 57 (the numeric last name is a reference to the Heinz sauce), is both a solo artist and member of the rock/psychedelic/progressive outfit, Spoonfed Tribe. The multi-instrumentalist plays drums (hand and stick), piano, cello, xylophone, harp and banjo and is very proud of the arrangements he created for Spoonfed Tribe's last five albums. Spoonfed Tribe describes itself as A Multidimensional Movement of Persuasive
Percussion and Melodic Mood Manipulation.
"I love to make and teach music," he says. "There is a lot of music out there and very little diversity."
The Arlington, Texas-based artist is a Luna player and it was love at first sight. "The look attracted me from across the room," Jerome says.
He co-wrote his first song in 1989 with friends, while still in middle school and credits his father, "a great musician" with teaching him discipline and inspiring him to play. "He was very influential while learning," Jerome explains.
Other musical influences include Pink Floyd, Mozart, Pantera, the Beatles, Pantera and Michael Hedges.
Jerome plays a Phoenix acoustic guitar and Phoenix bass and loves the feel and tone of his Lunas. "I can solo over anything," he says. Fans are also impressed by Luna's innate beauty. "I'm told they look original and elegant."
