Luna Guitars pitched in to help when Luna Artist Rachel Sedacca asked for support in fundraising for a cause very close to her heart. On June 14th, 2009, Rachel organized what she called "The Big Chill" a benefit to raise money for the cooling equipment program offered by The MS Association of America. The program provides cooling equipment to those in need as heat sensitivity is one of the many daily obstacles facing those diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a degenerative brain condition affecting 250,000 to 350,000 people in the United States.
Yvonne DeVillers, the founder of this very special line of instruments, answered the call to action by providing a brand new guitar from the stunning "Henna" line of acoustic instruments. Luna spearheaded the list of businesses donating goods and services for the prize raffle taking place at the event. The "Paradise" guitar provided by Luna acted as the
grand prize and raised over $1,000 of the almost $2,500 collected for the cause. A huge thank you to Luna guitars for stepping up to the plate and helping out where it counts!
Congratulations to Shannon Johansen of Ventura, already a Luna Guitars owner, for winning the draw and taking home the beautiful Henna Paradise that she will play for years to come and add to her collection.
